Why the Qualification Section Matters

The Tengai interview consists of three parts: Qualification, Personality, and Behavior. The qualification section is fully controlled by you as a recruiter – and it's where you directly connect the interview to your job requirements.

When used right, qualification questions help you:

  • accelerate your shortlisting

  • assign automatic scoring (0–10)

  • strengthen your shortlist

  • generate a reliable decision-making base

📁 Use Templates – Reuse and Connect to Your ATS

When you create a set of qualification questions in Tengai, you can save it as a template. The template:

  • is available when launching jobs from your ATS

  • can be reused across interviews and roles

  • is easy to update or tweak as needed

  • speeds up your workflow and ensures consistency

🔁 You can have multiple templates – e.g., one for "warehouse", one for "consultants", one for "internships".

🛠 How to Write Good Qualification Questions

Three Question Types:

  1. Required questions
    – Gives +1 point for "Yes", disqualifies candidate if "No"
    – Important to filter out non-matching candidates early

  2. Nice-to-have questions
    – Gives +1 point for "Yes", no penalty for "No"

  3. Open-ended questions
    – Not scored, but help you understand context and motivation

💡 Strong Question Examples

Required:

Have you led at least 10 full-cycle recruitments during the last three years?

Nice-to-have:

Do you have experience working with an ATS or HR system?

Open text:

Describe a situation where you were responsible for a complex recruitment. How did you structure the process?

✅ How Many Questions Should I Use?

  • 6–10 yes/no questions (2–4 of which are "required")

  • 2–3 open-ended questions

  • Max total: 15 questions

🔁 How Templates Work in Practice

  • Create your question set in Tengai (under “Create Assignment”)

  • Click “Save as template”

  • Your template is saved and visible to your team

  • When launching a new job in your ATS – select the template

  • You can then edit, replace or reuse the questions freely

This helps you scale structured hiring without starting from scratch.
Remember – you create the assignment in your ATS, not in the Recruiting Hub.

🎯 After the Interview

Once the candidate finishes:

  • Scores are automatically calculated

  • You get a ranked shortlist

  • You can filter out non-qualified candidates

  • You get open text responses to support your evaluation

FAQ

Can I edit templates later?
Yes. You can update or duplicate your templates anytime.

How do I know if someone fails a requirement?
Required questions are marked in the shortlist. If the candidate says “No” – it's visible immediately.

What if I only use open questions?
The candidate will get a score of 0 – but you’ll still see their answers. We recommend always combining with yes/no.
